2020 NCTA National Collegiate Taekwondo Championships and 2020 NCTA High School Championships

The NCTA is proud to announce the 45th National Collegiate Taekwondo Championships to be held April 3-5, 2020 at the University of California, Berkeley.
The NCTA is also pleased to host the 7th NCTA High School Championships, which includes Black Belt Sparring and Black Belt Sport Poomsae (Individual, Pairs and Teams) as part of the same event.

Finally, the 2020 National Collegiate Sparring and Poomsae Team Trials is included in this event, which will determine the USA team for the 2020 FISU America Games.  The 2020 FISU America Games will be held May 31 through June 5, 2020 in Merida, Mexico.

Tournament Information Packet

The tournament packet can be downloaded by clicking here (updated 2/27). Please read carefully as information has changed since last year!

The tournament packet includes designated poomsae information.

Tournament Registration

Registration is now live at http://www.usat.hangastar.com.

  • Collegiate athletes must acomplete the Student Clearing House online student certification (described in tournament packet) BEFORE doing Hangastar registration where a code from the Clearing House process will be requested, OR complete the paper registration form (also as described in the packet)
  • High School athletes must also complete and mail in the paper eligibility form
  • Please note that payment must be completed on Hangastar before the final registration deadline. On site payment will incur an additional $30 late fee.
  • Early Registration Deadline: March 19, 2020
  • Late Registration Deadline: March 24, 2020

UPDATE (2/23) – the collegiate team trials individual and pairs poomsae divisions are missing in Hangastar and will be updated shortly. Also, the collegiate team trials team poomsae division are incorrectly listed as 18-28, this will be updated to 18-25 shortly.

Eligibility Documentation

All collegiate competitors must EITHER:

  • Complete proof of student status through Student Clearing House, following the directions in this document, which will result in a code to be entered in Hangastar during registration,
  • OR, download this form and take it in person to the university registrar to be signed/stamped, then mail to the address on the form postmarked by March 16, 2020.

All high school competitors must:

  • download this form and have it completed and stamped by your high school, then mail to the address on the form postmarked by March 16, 2020.
