2025 NCTA National Collegiate and High School Championships

The NCTA is pleased to announce that the 2025 National Collegiate Taekwondo Championships and the 2025 NCTA National High School Championships will take place on Apr. 11-13, 2025 in Marlborough, MA. The Championships will also host the poomsae team trials for the 2025 Summer World University Games to be held in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany on July 16-27. The sparring team trials for the Summer World University Games will be held in Texas on March 16.

Note 1: Designated poomsae for black belts in all divisions will be drawn randomly from all current WT poomsae from Taegeuk 7 through Jitae per the new FISU and WT rules. The format for the championship division will be cutoff. To alleviate the new burden of this change, black belt designated poomsae for the high school, championships and 3v3 divisions have been posted in the tournament packet.

Note 2: To compete in the 3v3 Team Poomsae or Team Sparring divisions on Sunday, April 13, competitors must have competed in at least one NCTA-recognized regional collegiate event from their home region during the 2024-2025 academic year. If no regional event is held within 400 miles of thier school, schools may qualify for a tournament at a regional collegiate event outside of their home region.

Registration

All registration has been extended to Wednesday, April 2nd.

Complete the following by ~~March 28th~~ April 2nd:

Submit student verification information to nctaeligibility@gmail.com (see instructions below under Age/Citizenship Eligibility).
Create an account or update your profile on Sport80.
Complete the 2025 NCTA Collegiate Nationals and High School Championships Google Form.
Register for the event on Sport80. (deadline extended to April 2nd, 11:59 pm MT)

NCTA Cup registration:

Have one team/club representative request a Team registration spreadsheet via Google form by ~~March 28th~~ April 2nd.
Complete the team registration spreadsheet by April 4th.
Submit all NCTA cup athlete fees.

Sunday, Apr. 13, 2025 – “NCTA Cup” Division

3v3 Collegiate Team Sparring divisions

Sunday collegiate divisions will use a 3v3 individual matchup format similar to what was contested this year in the regional competitions. To compete in the Sunday Team Poomsae or Team Sparring divisions , competitors must have competed in at least one NCTA-recognized regional collegiate event during the 2024-2025 academic year. Divisions consist of A-Team (blue through black belts), B-team (green through red belts), and C-team (white through green belts). Poomsae divisions are co-ed and can consist of any combination of genders; Sparring divisions are separate male and female divisions.

Collegiate Academic Eligibility Information

Collegiate Championship Division: Athletes (undergraduate or graduate) who graduated from college in either 2024, or 2025, or who are half-time status or more between Jan. 10 and April 13, 2025, will be eligible. Athletes do not have to be US citizens. Competitors in the Collegiate Championship division must be born in 2007 or earlier.

Collegiate Team Trials Division: Athletes (undergraduate or graduate) who graduated from college in either 2024, or 2025, or who are half-time status or more between Jan. 10 and April 13, 2025, will be eligible. Athletes must be US citizens. Competitors in the Collegiate Team Trials Division must be born in the years 2000 through 2007.

All collegiate athletes in both the team trials and championship divisions MUST do one of the following to verify collegiate eligibility of half-time status or greater by ~~March 28~~ April 2, 2025:

Use parchment.com to send an official transcript and use the address nctaeligibility@gmail.com at the bottom of the form on that page, OR
Check your school website for the option to have them send a transcript or proof of graduation directly to nctaeligibility@gmail.com, OR
Email a clear photo or scan of the 2025 NCTA Collegiate Eligibility Form, signed by your college registrar, to nctaeligibility@gmail.com by ~~March 28~~ April 2, 2025.

Failure to complete this step will result in an athlete not being allowed to compete. Please email nctaeligibility@gmail.com with any problems or concerns.

High School Divisions Academic Eligibility Information

High competitors in the High School Championship division must be born in the years 2006 through
2011 and be currently enrolled in high school.

High school athletes must verify High School student status via the 2025 NCTA High School Eligibility Form and Email a clear photo or nctaeligibility@gmail.com by ~~March 28~~ April 2, 2025.
